This bear is enjoying the end of summer before settling down for the winter. I began this painting about a year ago but it he bear didn’t emerge until about a month ago , while painting with Do Terra Northern Escape in my studio. One whiff of that essential oil and this bear came to life!

I experimented here with a textured background. Something I haven’t done in many years!

Why DMT? DMT or Dimethyltryptamine is a naturally occurring chemical in the brain that can be accessed during a meditative state. Some choose to use entheogens for a chemically induced state of euphoria but regular meditation can allow one to achieve a similar state naturally. In my meditative state, images form through orbs- sort of like a lava lamp, but the orbs come together to create an image. So, I thought I would try to capture that with these daisies.

Daisies also seem so symbolic of the 60’s which was a time when there was a lot of experimentation with entheogens (think Timothy Leary, Woodstock, the Summer of Love etc). Daisies represent cheerfulness, purity & new beginnings. This is interesting as this small painting serves as a study for a much larger painting I’m working on which is about- transformation & new beginnings.

The colour palette includes gold, pink, violet and a muted turquoise which are all colours in Magnified Healing energy.
